Pretty butterfly birthday

This card is another one of the commissions I was busy with last week...

I have again used Twitterpated...can you tell I love it?! The sentiment is computer generated and the embossing is using the Fancy Fan EF.

I finished with a couple of pretty butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri set and some Pool Party Seam Binding. By the way, today is you LAST CHANCE to get the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and the Bitty Butterfly Punch at 15% off! You can grab it for yourself in my shop, and while you're there, why not check out the clearance rack and grab yourself some real bargains!

A pretty birthday

Good morning all!
This is a little later than usual as I didn't have time to write my post yesterday due to work and a very fun workshop!

Anyway, better late than never!

I have used the gorgeous Twitterpated DSP that I got for a bargain from the Clearance Rack last week! There are still a lot of really lovely items available, including the beautiful Twitterpated and Summer Smooches Fabrics at bargain prices of £2.49 and £2.19 respectively.

I stamped Flower Garden flowers and punched them with the matching punch. I embossed across the middle of the sentiment panel with the Needlepoint Border EF, just to break up the white space a little. The ribbon is Blushing Bride Stitched Grosgrain.

A CAS sketch for Less Is More

Good morning LIMettes!
How are you? We are having a bit of an Indian summer here in Bolton, are you?

Well, on to the challenge at Less is More now, and this week we have a sketch.

Here are my cards...

This first one I've made is using Pleasant Poppies, and I made a frame using 2 framelits.

The sentiment is from Express Yourself.

This second one is made using Christmas Collectibles and More Merry Messages.

I heat embossed the bauble in gold and the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler.

I also heat embossed the edges of the circle panel and the card blank to give definition while keeping the card very CAS. I fussy cut the sentiment to overhang the panel.

Supplies
Cardstock - Whisper White, Crumb Cake
Stamps - Pleasant Poppies, Express Yourself, Christmas Collectibles, More Merry Messages,
Ink - Versamark, Poppy Parade, Old Olive, Basic Black
Embossing - Cherry Cobbler, Gold
Framelits - Circles Collection

A card and some cupcakes!

Oh my gosh! I cannot tell you how busy I have been this week! All good, of course, but I shall be glad to get a little break after the weekend! Not that I'm having any time off, but things look a little quieter next week (for now!)

So here is one of the (very) last minute commissions I was asked to make. I got an email Wednesday morning about this card, and it went in the post Thursday morning!

The lady who ordered the card for her husband sent me this quote to work around, so I thought it would look nice in a frame. I created the layout of the sentiment in MDS and printed it in Basic Black. I then cut it out with one of the Hearts Collection Framelits, and then I cut a frame using 2 framelits, off setting them slightly.

The background is embossed with Pretty Print (who says it's just for Christmas?!) and the DSP is the downloadable for MDS Wild Wasabi. I finished with a button made using Simply Pressed Clay and one of the useful moulds. I do love these handmade buttons...they are so light so don't add weight to your card - handy when posting!

Challenges
Colour Q - #208 (I have CASEd this gorgeous card by Silke)

We have our coffee morning at work for Macmillan today so last night I was baking like crazy for it! Here are my treats...

This is one of my Sticky Toffee cupcakes, with Salted Caramel buttercream topping...they really are sooooo yummy!

I found the recipe here. I've actually made about 30 of them!

These are my very easy, and very scrummy Blueberry Muffins.

This recipe was here.

I forgot how much I enjoyed baking...I think I may be doing it more often! Oooops...there goes the diet! ;)

Have a lovely Friday!

A Happy Day Thank You

Hello!
Here is a quick card I snuck in between my commissions yesterday, because I really wanted to enter two challenges that end today.

I used the lovely medallion from the Happy Day stamp set, stamped in Basic Black onto Crumb Cake cardstock.

I embossed some Basic Black cardstock with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and created the sentiment using Itty Bitty Banners and matching framelits. I finished with a couple of pearls and doodled corners.

A new baby Down Under!

Hiya peeps!
How is your week going? I'm having a busy one, but then I always seem to be busy lately! It's a good thing, honest!

I had a request for a new baby card the other day, with a rather unusual name request...

The card is to be sent to a Great Auntie and Great Uncle in Australia, who sadly will never be grandparents, so they are being Grauntie and Gruntle!

I have used the sadly retired Bundle of Love stamp and stamped it on Very Vanilla, Wisteria Wonder and Pink Pirouette card stock, then paper pieced parts of the pram. I added a little dimension with stitching, liquid pearls and a Basic Gray Candy Dot, and finished with a computer printed sentiment cut out with one of the framelits from the Chalk Talk set. The Basic Gray card was punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch.

The background papers are available for My Digital Studio, which I am loving! I haven't created a card with it yet, but I am loving the printable elements! It is available with a FREE trial so why not give it a go? It comes with several elements included to get you started, including stamps, sentiments, papers and embellishments.

Plum Jam and Pop - Up Zoo Babies!

Hi everyone!
How was your weekend? I have been busy making jam for the first time ever! Either side of me plum trees grow in my neighbours' gardens and they have always encouraged me to help myself to them. Well last year the frost practically killed them off before they started so we didn't have any, but this year they have made up for it! We have had a bumper crop! I think I picked at least 10 kilos of them off one tree alone today, not all for me by the way! So I have made one batch of jam, and I have another to make tomorrow...I plan to sell it at our Macmillan coffee morning at work on Friday!

Anyway, you came to see a card right? Ok well here is one then. It is for my friend to give her nephew later this week.

I have used Woodgrain EF and Pear Pizzazz Chevron Ribbon for the front of the card, along with the cute little Monkey from the Zoo Babies.

When I started making this card I knew I wanted it to be a bit different, and special. Well, the special part of this card is inside...

Don't you just love it?! I stamped each of the characters by colouring them with Stampin' Write Markers before stamping. I then fussy cut each one out, leaving about 1cm on the bottom of each so I could bend it and stand each of them up. I coloured each of the flaps to allow them to blend in with the base.

It is a very simple card really...just fiddly! And incredibly effective!

I'm sure little Ryan will love popping each animal up when he opens this card...lots of fun!

Oh Baby!

Hello!
I went to my friend Nikki's surprise baby shower last night, which meant I needed a card for her, so here is what I made...

I have used the great Oh Baby single stamp for this and some of the old designer papers, now available on MDS! I stitched a bit, added a Simply Pressed Clay Button and a couple of pearls and then I was done!

Thank you for stopping by today...hopefully I will get chance to make something today to show you tomorrow! :)

Guest design for Less Is More!

Good morning LIMettes!
I have exciting news! I have been asked to guest design at Less Is More while Jen takes a couple of weeks off! I am thrilled to have been asked, and I only hope I can do the challenges justice!

This week's challenge is

FELT

It's a while since I have used felt, but I have made a couple of cards for you to see.

This first one is made using some felt which looks a lot like the colour Raspberry Ripple, and it looks lovely teamed with the sparkly black felt. I used the Dress Up Framelits to create a little dress and cardigan. The embossing is done with the Perfect Polka Dots EF, and the sentiment is from the hostess Express Yourself stamp set.

My second card is created by stamping the Festive Flurry stamps in Silver Encore onto white sparkly felt, then cut it out using the matching framelits. (these stamps and framelits are available as a bundle with a 15% discount) The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments, stamped in Silver Encore, and the papers are the Winter Frost DSP. I finished with a super sparkly Frosted Finishes Embellishment...these are stunning in real life!

Challenges
CASE Study - #158 (first card)
A Random Thursday - #15 (second card)

I hope you like my cards...what will you create?

More Merry Messages

Ouch! I went swimming yesterday for the first time in ages, and I can feel it today!

Anyway, I did just about manage to make a card last night...

You may be seeing a theme in my cards recently...Christmas, and quick! And let's face it, when you have a lot of cards to send, you need to be able to make them quickly!

I embossed the sentiment from More Merry Messages in Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Emboss Powder. The paper is the lovely and versatile Season Of Style DSP

You can view and order all these items from my online shop simply by clicking on the product links. See...I've even made it easy for you! ;)

I will be starting a new Stampers 6 club soon...if you are interested, please do contact me...there are only a couple of places left!
