Gorgeous rainbow wings

Good morning!
This is a very quick post before I go to work.

It's Saturday which means there's a new challenge over at Less Is More, and it's their 3rd birthday! And Mandi is back as a guest designer! How lovely to see her work again and HAPPY BIRTHDAY Less Is More!

This week they have gone with a rainbow theme. As soon as I saw this challenge I knew exactly what to do!

I used Gorgeous Grunge, lots of different colours and the Beautiful Wings Embosslits folder. The butterflies were die cut from card I stamped with Gorgeous Grunge to give the a blotchy look.

My idea with this card was to make the butterflies look like they had lifted off the ink spots on the card...almost like they were flying away with stolen colour!

The colours I used are Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive and Elegant Eggplant.

I am also entering this into the challenge at Stampin' Celebration and this photo inspiration...

Right, must dash! See you later!

Look, no stamping!!

Good afternoon!
Yes I am a bit late today...I was out with the PTA last night and got in very late and quite drunk! My alarm went off at 8am, but I really wasn't ready to get up so I had a lazy morning!

As you know, I had a craft room revolution yesterday, gutting it and changing it to add more space and storage.

It started off like this...

As you can see, it's a bit short on useful storage and a bit messy!

So I emptied it...

And this is how it looks now...

I have much more storage, and I even sorted out some more stuff and had a bit more of a clearout! It was almost worth getting stuck in the Ikea lift for!

So, during the sort out, I found lots of little bits that need using up, mainly die cuts, so I have set myself a challenge this week to use them up! So here is the first card using up a card blank, a strip of Pool Party card and some die cut butterflies...

I embossed a line of crosses from one of the Needlepoint EFs.

As the butterflies were cut from Core'dinations card, I added some interest to them by sanding the edges and the embossed parts.

I am entering my card into the challenge at CAS(E) This Sketch

Get well soon Shelli!

Morning!
Some of you may have heard that Shelli from Stampin' Up! had a nasty riding accident last week, (you can read the full story and leave get well messages here), and she has got a long road to recovery ahead of her. I also know she is going to have the most Stampin' Up! get well cards sent to one person ever! Maybe it should be entered into the Guinness Book of World Records?!

Anyway, I too have made a card to send to wish her well and here it is...

This is made using all colours from the Subtles colour collection. Papers, ribbons and inks.

I have gone for my first effort at a 'shabby chic' style card...not sure if it passes...what do you think? I sanded the edges of all the paper elements and used Core'dinations cardstock for the butterflies.

I added an Antique Brad as a finishing touch. Overall I think it's certainly a pretty card, if not quite Shabby Chic!

Supplies
Cardstock - Whisper White, Core'dinations
Designer Series Paper - Subtles (Soft Sky)
Stamp - Teeny Tiny Wishes, Oh, Hello
Ink - Pear Pizzazz, Wisteria Wonder
Ribbon - Chevron, Stitched Grosgrain (Blushing Bride)
Dies - Ovals Collection Framelits, Beautiful Wings Embosslits
Other - Antique Brads

If you would like to purchase anything I have used here, or would like to know more about the gorgeous products, please do contact me, I am more than happy to help!

New colours and Designer Series Paper

After work yesterday I came home, hoovered, put my little man to bed, then decided I really should get on with some crafting! I haven't really done much over the last week or so, but I have to say, the little break seems to have done me the world of good as I made this card which I am over the moon happy with!

For this card I decided to showcase some of the stunning new colours and products Stampin' Up! have recently released. Isn't Bermuda Bay just gorgeous?! And the new Smoky Slate is so soft!

I used a sentiment from the Simply Sketched Hostess stamp set, some of the brand new Neutrals Designer Series Paper and the ever lovely Beautiful Wings Embosslits. The upper butterflies are vellum and finished with Silver Glass Glitter and one of the new Candy Dots.

Supplies
Cardstock - Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Vellum
DSP - Neutrals
Stamp - Simply Sketched
Ink - Basic Black
Dies - Beautiful Wings Embosslits
Other - Silver Glass Glitter, Candy Dots

If you would like to order any of the lovely items I have used, or any other products please do contact me for more information and to find out how to earn your own free Hostess stamp sets!

Challenges

I'm back at work this week, and juggling time with Keiran and crafting, but hopefully I shall still manage to keep up with my cards and blogging! Have a lovely Monday!

Remembering Mum #1

Good evening!
I have had a lovely afternoon crafting with Jen, and here is one of the cards I have made. The theme was an idea requested by a friend of mine as she struggles to find cards to place on her parent's graves at special times of the year. So this one is for her Mum for Mother's Day...

I coloured the Flowering Flourishes stamp with my Stampin' Write Markers before stamping, giving a very subtle effect, which is just what I was looking for with this card. I mounted the panel onto Wisteria Wonder card. The sentiment is computer generated.

I finished with a few of the tiny butterflies from Embosslits Beautiful Wings.

Supplies used on this card
Cardstock - Whisper White
Inks (Markers) - Certainly Celery, Perfect Plum, Wisteria Wonder
Stamps - Flowering Flourishes
Ribbon - Ruffled Edge Wisteria Wonder

White Butterflies!

Hi again!
Yup...2 posts in one afternoon! Well the last card I made really got me thinking about the Flutterby Wednesday challenge this week which is All White, so I decided to make another card!

I have used the Embosslits Beautiful Wings folder again, the Lacy Brocade EF, and the stamp is part of the Sale-A-Bration Bloomin' Marvellous set.

A closer look

I have used the layout at CAS(E) This Sketch to build my card, and I finished with a few tiny pearls from my stash.

I have also made this card with the Less Is More challenge in mind, which is Friendship. I am very late with it this week as I had my best friends visiting this weekend from Holland, Cambridge, Preston, Rochdale and t'other side of Bolton! They know how much they mean to me, but this is dedicated to them anyway...love you girls! :)

If you would like to get your hands on any of the gorgeous products I have used here, or any others, please contact me on 07915 698577 or email at lizyshouseofcards@mail.com

Thanks for popping by!

Butterflies in White

Good afternoon!
Wow! We're all in white here in Bolton today! I have even managed to get some lovely pictures in our local park :) I am officially on my day off today, but I'm calling a Snow Day nonetheless!

Ok so with all this white around, it inspired me for this next card I think!

Now I have followed this CASE challenge at Inkspirational

Isn't it a fabby layout?? I couldn't resist having a go myself!
Another view

I have used one of the first Stampin' Up! items I ever bought...the Embosslits Beautiful Wings folder. I love these little butterflies...I always forget I have them!
I have also used some of the Sale-A-Bration designer paper and the new Needlepoint Embossing folders...I love new stuff! ;)
