My new phone cover!

Hello all!
I got a new phone on Friday, which of course means a new phone cover! So, as I can never find one I like, I have made my own again!

I have used Gorgeous Grunge, Elements of Style and Peachy Keen to pretty up my case. The reason I chose this design is because my phone is kind of my 'lifeline'...it has all my numbers, my lists to organise myself, precious photos and it keeps me in touch with my most favourite people in the world! So, in short, life really is a matter of moments and my phone captures them all!

This is how it looks with the plastic case on it...

The colours I used are Island Indigo, Strawberry Slush and Basic Gray. I chose the colours as I totally love the combo...my favourite I think!

a Vintage Freestyle Collage kind of card!

Hello!!
How are you? Are you having a good week? I've had a busy one, emptying my craftroom ready to add some new staorage and a new desk! I can't wait to see how it will look! Of course, more storage means more room for stamps lol!

Anyway, here is a card I am particularly pleased with! I tried to make it 2 nights ago, but came to a standstill with it. You see, I wanted to make a card to enter the challenge at the brand new challenge blog, The Card Concept, using this picture for inspiration...

...but every time I tried, it seemed to go wrong! I wanted soft flowers and girliness, but it didn't go that way. Anyway, enough waffle...here is my card...

I used various stamps sets here...Simply Sketched for the sentiment, Happy Day for the medallion and Elements of Style for the bird. I fussy cut them both using my super sharp paper snips...I love them so much I have 2 pairs...a ribbon pair and paper pair!

I embossed the banner and the corner of the sentiment panel with Lacy Brocade EF, and the background is using Crumb Cake DSP (ret). I finished with Linen Thread, and some Liquid Pearls (not SU)

I said before that I'm entering at Card Concept. Well I also have to state what style of card I have gone with, and for this one I'm going with Freestyle Collage. The colours inspired me to go with a kind of vintage look too. I also used the sketch at Sweet Sunday too...

I'm off to Ikea tonight to buy some Expedits and Linmon (or something like that!) to transform my craftroom into an organised workspace! I shall post the pics when I've done! :)

Have a fab day...it's Friday!

Life is a matter of moments

Hello! Can you believe it's October already?!! It'll be Christmas soon! ;)

Anyway, I had an enjoyable couple of hours in my craft room last night after Keiran had gone to bed. Here is one of the cards I created...

I have only used one stamp set for a change! I've used Elements Of Style and I stamped it in Blushing Bride and Primrose Petals.

The sentiment is on a banner because I only went and smudged it didn't I! I finished with Blushing Bride Stitched Grosgrain and a few little pearls.

Supplies
Stamp - Elements Of Style
Ink - Blushing Bride, Primrose Petals
Ribbon - Blushing Bride Stitched Grosgrain

Less Is More - Case it!

Good morning LIMettes! I have to be quick this morning as it's Keiran's Birthday party today so lots to do!

This week at Less Is More, Chrissie and Jen are asking us to Case one of their cards!

Now, Jen's card looks like the easier option, but I thought I would have a go at Chrissie's one instead as it's a technique I've been meaning to try for a while!

Here is my card...

I have used the Elements of Style stamp set and the Alphabet Typeset Bigz Dies.

Here is Chrissie's card that I have Cased

I'm also entering my card into the colour challenge at Create with Connie and Mary

Life Is A Matter Of Moments

Good evening!
Oh my goodness...the weather is sooooo bad here tonight! It's a veritable hail storm, wind, thunder and lightening included!

It makes for a perfect crafting night though, so here is one of the cards I made this evening...not reflecting the weather at all!

I have used Papillon Pot Pourri and the matching Elegant Butterfly punch for this card. Are they just beautiful? They are my favourite SU! items by far! I gently furled the wings at the top for some definition and make them look like they're about to flutter off the card!
When I saw the sketch at Retro Sketches, I couldn't resist using these...they are perfect for it don't you think?

The sentiment is from the Elements Of Style stamp set...again, a gorgeous sentiment. I chose to match the word 'Life' with the green butterfly to kind of highlight that all the moments (pink butterflies) make life.

Products used for this card
Cardstock - Whisper White, Crumb Cake
Stamps - Papillon Pot Pourri, Elements Of Style
Inks (markers) - Old Olive, Pretty In Pink, Regal Rose
Punch - Elegant Butterfly

I don't think I've ever made a card in this colour combo before, but I like it!! :))

A card inspired by another!

Good evening all :)
I have a card here that I've made for the Colour Q challenge. As soon as I saw this colour combo, and the stunning card made by Sylvia, it inspired me to CASe her card.
So here is my card...

A closer view

And here is Sylvia's card...
Blog-CQC-121a
Isn't it just stunning??

I used similar techniques to Sylvia too, including stamping and embossing my image before colouring with my Stampin' Up! markers. A little trick I discovered whilst colouring...if you don't have a watercolour blender pen, try spritzing a little water onto a tile or some acetate, and dip your coloured marker into the water before colouring. Then, as the water wears out, the colour gets deeper, so creating some shading.

Supplies used
Cardstock - Whisper White, Crumb Cake
Stamps - Elements Of Style
Markers - More Mustard, Old Olive, Riding Hood Red
Embossing Folders - Adorning Accents Folders, Perfect Polka Dots
Dies - Labels Collection Framelits, Adorning Accents Edglits
Other - Versamark Embossing Pad, Stampin' Emboss Powder; Clear

If you would like me to order any Stampin' Up! products for delivery right to your door, (and get your freebies) please don't hesitate to contact me on 07915 698577 or email me at lizyshouseofcards@mail.com
Thanks for popping on by...see you soon!
