Less Is More - Beads

Good morning LIMettes!
Have you had any snow? It snowed for 20+ hours straight yesterday would you believe?! In fact, it was still snowing when I went to bed ant 11.30! But because it was so windy, it didn't actually start to settle until last night...we still only have a couple of inches! But I received a photo of my Mum and Dad's in Huddersfield, and they've got drifts in their back garden of over 18 inches and it's still snowing!

Anyway, Chrissie and Jen at Less Is More are here, as always on a Saturday morning, to wake us up and get our creative juices going! This morning, the challenge is

BEADS

Now I had to think for a minute what to do...I have tonnes of seed beads from various pound shops, and often use them in the centre of a flower, but I wanted to try something a bit different. I was looking around when I found a punched piece of card on my desk, left over from some playing with butterflies you probably saw earlier this week.

So here is what I decided to try...

The butterflies were punched using the Bitty Butterfly Punch.
I flooded each of the cut outs with Crystal Effects and poured beads into them. A little playing and re-arranging of the beads and it's done!

The sentiment is Teeny Tiny Sentiments, stamped in Not Quite Navy, and the yellow paper is Designer Series Brights (Daffodil Yellow)

Supplies
Cardstock - Whisper White
Designer Series Paper - Brights
Punch - Bitty Butterfly
Stamp - Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink - Not Quite Navy
Other - Crystal Effects, Seed beads from stash

If you would like to order any Stampin' Up! items, please do contact me as I love to make crafters happy, and a delivery from Stampin' Up! will definitely do that! :)

Challenges
2013 Thursday Challenges-007

I'm off to take Keiran skating now...roller skating, not ice skating, though we could probably even get away with skiing!
Have a great Saturday!

  1. Smashing card and colours and so quick off the mark too - I'm waiting for gloss medium to dry on my own project as I type!

  9. Brilliant idea Lizy, these beady butterflies look gorgeous. Love the touch of yellow too.

We are so lucky here as we have virtually no snow. Yet not far away roads are closed, schools have been shut etc. But it's soooo unbelievably cold.

  18. Aaaahhhh - Huddersfield! That's where I went to uni many, many years ago...I spent 4 years freezing my backside off LOL! What a great way to use up your seed beads Lizy. I have heaps of them lying around and have used them on chipboard letters but never on butterflies. Lovely!
