My Superhero!

I am so late in entering the Less is More challenge this week! Still, better late than never right?

So here is my entry into the Masculine themed challenge...

This is another new set I recently bought...it's super great for kids' cards!

After I stamped the little fella in Baked Brown Sugar, I coloured in his cape and boots in Real Red and Pacific Blue. The sentiment was fussy cut and mounted on Dimensionals and I paper pierced the image panel to give some added interest.

I had my cards placed into a little shop in our new market yesterday! I'm only starting with new baby and christening/baptism card for now, but it's a start and I'm very excited about it! So I shall have to make plenty more now to have on my regular church stall!

Have a lovely Friday...make the most of it with your little ones...back to school next week!

Pinkies Spring/Summer bloghop

Thank you for joining us on another Pinkies Blog Hop! We're showcasing lots of gorgeous projects
using products from the new Stampin' Up!® Spring/Summer Catalogue. Simply use the buttons at the
end of each post to keep hopping!

Here is my project for this blog hop, and I have chosen to use the fabulous Peachy Keen stamp set and On Film framelit bundle and one of the stamps from Happy Watercolor.

I stamped the various elements in Bermuda Bay, Basic Black, Soft Sky and Baked Brown Sugar.

The filmstrip, both arrows and the cute little camera are all from the On Film Framelits. I also cut out an extra 'lens' for the camera, popped it up on dimensionals and then covered with Crystal Effects to give a 3D glassy effect.

I made this as a 'thank you' card as I plan to give it to a work colleague who has been giving me lessons on how to use the digital SLR he sold me and passing on his knowledge from his photography course!

Now, if you have this bundle, you will know that the camera stamp and the camera framelit don't line up as they are both the same way round, meaning you need to cut the camera from the back of the stamped image, rather than the front, which as you can imagine is somewhat tricky! Well, not anymore!

I have made a little video I made on how to cut it out, the easy way! And for those of you that haven't yet bought the bundle and may have been put off by this little quirk, now there's no excuse! I will be posting the video on Monday morning, so don't forget to come back and take a look!

EDIT: You can now view the video tutorial HERE!

a Vintage Freestyle Collage kind of card!

Hello!!
How are you? Are you having a good week? I've had a busy one, emptying my craftroom ready to add some new staorage and a new desk! I can't wait to see how it will look! Of course, more storage means more room for stamps lol!

Anyway, here is a card I am particularly pleased with! I tried to make it 2 nights ago, but came to a standstill with it. You see, I wanted to make a card to enter the challenge at the brand new challenge blog, The Card Concept, using this picture for inspiration...

...but every time I tried, it seemed to go wrong! I wanted soft flowers and girliness, but it didn't go that way. Anyway, enough waffle...here is my card...

I used various stamps sets here...Simply Sketched for the sentiment, Happy Day for the medallion and Elements of Style for the bird. I fussy cut them both using my super sharp paper snips...I love them so much I have 2 pairs...a ribbon pair and paper pair!

I embossed the banner and the corner of the sentiment panel with Lacy Brocade EF, and the background is using Crumb Cake DSP (ret). I finished with Linen Thread, and some Liquid Pearls (not SU)

I said before that I'm entering at Card Concept. Well I also have to state what style of card I have gone with, and for this one I'm going with Freestyle Collage. The colours inspired me to go with a kind of vintage look too. I also used the sketch at Sweet Sunday too...

I'm off to Ikea tonight to buy some Expedits and Linmon (or something like that!) to transform my craftroom into an organised workspace! I shall post the pics when I've done! :)

Have a fab day...it's Friday!

Sale-a-Bration Sneak Peek!

Well hello everyone!
How are you? How was your Christmas? I hope you had a lovely one and that it was full of wonderful memories!
I had a fantastic time and Kerian had a wonderful time too! As expected, he got a tonne of stuff! We shall be clearing out some of his old toys to make room for the new I think!

I had a couple of hours in my craft room today, whilst Keiran played with his new toys so here is one of the cards I made...

I have used Gorgeous Grunge and a new sneak peek set! This is Banner Blast from the upcoming Sale-a-Bration catalogue, and the best thing? It has a cute little matching Banner Punch!

I am entering this card into the challenge at Colour Q this week...
...and also the Less Is More Challenge which is to use any previous challenge. I have gone for Week 7 - Masculine

A smudgy Santa!

Hello again!
Ok this is a super quick post as I forgot to schedule one for our challenge at CAS - Colours and Sketches this week!

I have used the lovely and traditional Santa's List stamp and some DSP from the Season Of Style stack.

I do love this stamp! He is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar and when I pick up the panel I realised it wasn't dry as I smudged a bit! Rather than throw it out, I rubbed my fingers gently over the image and picked up more colours, and 'distressed' the entire panel! :)

Here is our sketch for this week...

Please do come along and have a go! :)

See you tomorrow!

Beyond the comfort zone!

Good morning!
As I promised yesterday, here is the card that pushed me so far out of my comfort zone that I actually enjoyed it!

I was asked to make a card with 'sewing' things on it, so here it is...

Most of you who know me know that I am very much a CAS gal these days, so this card kind of came as a shock to me when I'd finished it! I just kept adding all sorts of things to it, but the more I added, the more it came together!

I used the Dress Up Framelits for the mannequin and partially embossed it using a retired EF. The papers are Sweater Weather from the Seasonal Catalogue which I chose for their fabricky (it is a word, honest!) look. The tape measure is the Measuring Stick Wheel Builder wheel.

I distressed all the edges with the Distressing Tool and Baked Brown Sugar ink, applied with the Foam Sponges. I also distressed the Pool Party Seam Binding by dabbing with BBS ink, spraying with water and scrunching up then allowing to dry before opening out. I finished with a Crochet Trim, Naturals Designer Button, pearlised pins and Pool Party Baker's Twine bundle, and some scattered pearls.

Like I said, there's a lot on this card, but I think I like it! I just hope my customer does!
