Perfect Swallowtail

Good morning!
I have another card made using up something I found whilst re-organising my craft room...

This gorgeous white and Iridescent Ice embossed butterfly has been sat on my desk for probably 6 months, poor thing! I decided it was time to use it, and I wanted colour, so I used a piece of sponge to gently sweep Perfect Plum over the butterfly. I then gently wiped the excess colour off the embossing to reveal the white. Isn't it pretty?

I stamped the background in Island Indigo using Gorgeous Grunge, but as I needed a softer look I stamped off the ink first. I finished with a sentiment from Express Yourself, stamped in Smoky Slate.

I am entering my card into a couple of challenges...

Do you remember that I got stuck in a lift at Ikea on Friday? Well, I had a phone call yesterday from the manager and he apologised most profusely, then by way of compensation, he is sending me and Jen a £100 gift card each! Now I still won't be getting in their lift any time soon, but I will be spending their money! That's my craft room paid for, thank you very much!

See you soon!

A man card! (with glitter!)

Hello!
I have a man card to show you today! It's the second one this week!!

I have used Midnight Muse DSP (from In Color 2013/14) for the background on a Whisper White card base. I stamped Dictionary onto the banner shape using Smoky Slate and added a few splodges of Gorgeous Grunge, also in Smoky Slate.

The sentiment is from Label Love and is embossed with Pewter Stampin' Emboss. I finished with a few stars cut from Silver Glimmer Paper.

I'm entering my card into these challenges...

Grungy, elegant butterfly

Hello! I had a bit of a clear out of Keiran's toys yesterday...it was very cleansing, and we got rid of lots! Unfortunately I managed to sprain my ankle whilst dumping some of the rubbish! Oh well...gets me out of the gym today! ;)

So after Keiran went to bed I had a little play in my craftroom (another upcoming clear out and re-organise project!) and here is what I came up with...

Now, I had some sort of idea what I wanted to make when I started, but it didn't actually come out that way! I used the Dictionary stamp and rather than ink the whole stamp, I rubbed the inkpad over the stamp, then I wiped off parts of it with a dry baby wipe to give a faded, bitty look. I then added some ink splodges using Gorgeous Grunge, a leaf stem from Summer Silhouettes, and a sentiment from Simply Sketched.

I added a four layered butterfly from Papillon Potpourri in Tempting Turquoise for some femininity.

I'm not 100% sure how I feel about this one, but it's growing on me!

I am entering this into the challenge at Colour Throwdown this week...

A Christmas flower

How is your week going? Mine is very busy, but looking good!
Here is a card I made for my Stampers 6 this month...I'm only showing one because, as usual, I packed them all before photographing them!

I love this colour combo! I have used the Winter Frost papers and punched out the main flower with the Blossom Punch, and cut the middle out following the pattern.

The ribbon is Coastal Cabana Stretch Ruffle Trim and I finished with some Silver Glass Glitter in the centre of the flower. The sentiment is from Pretty Petites.

Supplies
Cardstock - Whisper White, Smoky Slate
Stamp - Petite Pairs
Ink - Basic Gray
Designer Series Paper - Winter Frost
Ribbon - Coastal Cabana Ruffle Stretch Trim
Punch - Blossom Punch
Glitter - Silver Glass Glitter

A Sunburst Thank You

Good morning!
It's a one layer challenge at Less Is More this week and Chrissie and Jen also have a theme of Thank You cards. So here is mine...

I woke up this morning with these two colours in my head, so I just went with it!

After I lightly marked off the areas to colour, I used post-it notes as a mask then sponged Pistachio Pudding and Smoky Slate ink to create my first attempt at the 'sunburst' technique. I then scored a line and finished with the sentiment is from Express Yourself and a few gems.

I have work this weekend, how about you? Whatever you're doing, have a good one! :)

Winter Frost is not just for Christmas!

Good afternoon!
As you know, I have been branching out a little with my crafting in an attempt to off more than just cards on my stalls.

Here is another notebook that I have altered, using shop bought books and Stampin' Up! products.

This one is decorated using Winter Frost DSP, proving that it's not just for Christmas!

I also used a spare Papillon Potpourri butterfly that was lying on my desk, along with a word created using Morning Post stamp set.

I finished with some old ribbon and some gems.

Supplies
Cardstock - Pool Party
Designer Paper - Winter Frost
Stamps - Morning Post, Papillon Potpourri
Ink - Soft Sky, Smoky Slate

I have a feeling these books are going to be popular...I took them to church today and sold this one and the one I'm going to show you tomorrow, along with one of my mini ones, plus I got lots of orders for cards too! So....time to get crafting!!
If you would like to buy any of the Stampin' Up! products I have used here, you can do so by clicking through to my online shop using the link in my sidebar.

I will be back with more tomorrow...enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
