A whole lot of wonderful!

Hello!
We have a new challenge at CAS - Colours and Sketches and this week it's a colour challenge. A nice bright, cheerful colour challenge!

Aren't these lovely colours? I immediately thought of spring, tulips and happiness! I hope my card translates that...

I used the lovely Vivid Vases stamp, new in the Spring/Summer catalogue. I liked this stamp the first time I saw it. I coloured it very simply using my Stampin' Write Markers.

Can you see the shine on the vases? I added some Crystal Effects as I thought it would give them some realism. The strip of Gingham Garden Washi gives the card I little 'zing' don't you think?

Gorgeous rainbow wings

Good morning!
This is a very quick post before I go to work.

It's Saturday which means there's a new challenge over at Less Is More, and it's their 3rd birthday! And Mandi is back as a guest designer! How lovely to see her work again and HAPPY BIRTHDAY Less Is More!

This week they have gone with a rainbow theme. As soon as I saw this challenge I knew exactly what to do!

I used Gorgeous Grunge, lots of different colours and the Beautiful Wings Embosslits folder. The butterflies were die cut from card I stamped with Gorgeous Grunge to give the a blotchy look.

My idea with this card was to make the butterflies look like they had lifted off the ink spots on the card...almost like they were flying away with stolen colour!

The colours I used are Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive and Elegant Eggplant.

I am also entering this into the challenge at Stampin' Celebration and this photo inspiration...

Right, must dash! See you later!

Woodgrain and Flowers

Good morning everyone!
How are you this Monday? I have had fun crafting and designing wedding invitations this weekend for a friend's wedding. I would love to share, but until she has sent them I think that would be unfair, don't you?

So instead, I have this to show you...

My inspiration for this card came from the photo at Fusion this week.

I used the Woodgrain stamp for the background, stamped in Early Espresso and I inked the edges with Chocolate Chip. The flowers are die cut from the Blossom Party Originals Bigz Die and the leaves are from the Bird Builder Punch.

The centres are created using a whole load of black gems from my stash. Having a root around my craft room has made me more willing to use up the things I have in my stash! In fact, I think I could make a card a day for the next 10 years, and never have to buy anything lol!

Adorable Baby

Good morning!
I love Saturdays, don't you? Especially as I have the day off and I'm re-organising my craft room, with Jen's help! We went to Ikea last night to get my new furniture. It should have been uneventful, but it wasn't! We got stuck in the lift! It is my first time and I can tell you, it will be my last because I do not plan to go in a lift again!! (or at least for a very long while!)

Another good thing about Saturdays is the new challenge at Less Is More, and this week it's

NEW BABY

Now, as it happens, I made a new baby card for my DT card for our new sketch at Sketch Saturday this week, so I am entering it into this challenge.

I have used a stamp from a Stampin' Up! set called Sweetest Gift. It's stamped in Wisteria Wonder and I paper pierced the edge for interest.

I embossed the bottom half of the card blank with the Perfect Polka Dots EF and the banners are created using two of the FREE Sale-a-Bration products...Banner Blast stamps and Banner Punch.
For more information about Sale-a-Bration, or joining my Stampers Six club, please contact me and I'd be very happy to help!

Transformed notebooks

Hello!
I have a few school fairs coming up in the next couple of months so I have decided to branch out a little in items for my stall. Not everyone wants/needs cards, so I feel it's time I offered something else...see what you think of these...

I found these lovely little pads in Wilkinsons and just knew they were ripe for transformation! And the best thing? They only took about half an hour for all 3! So I am now experimenting with bigger ones, which I will show when they are done :)

Supplies
Cardstock - Naturals White, Whisper White
Stamps - Motorcycle (from MDS), Simply Stars, Express Yourself, Summer Silhouettes, Morning Post
Ink - Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Old Olive, Raspberry Ripple, Island Indigo
Other - Season of Style Washi, This 'n That Washi

If you would like to purchase any of these products, or anything else for that matter, you can do so using the link in my sidebar.

I hope the storm didn't cause too much damage where you are yesterday. We were lucky to have the winds bypass us in Bolton...just a lot of rain.

Have a lovely Tuesday...see you tomorrow!

Supplies
Stamps - Stippled Blossoms, Simply Sketched, Hearts a Flutter
Ink - Daffodil Delight, Strawberry Slush

Goodbye old catalogue!

Good morning!
Did you have a good day yesterday? Keiran had a fab day! He went to his friend's birthday party and was so pooped he passed out for 2 hours when we got in, bless him! I did too lol! We finished off the day with a curry a 'beer' and 101 Dalmations!

I'm so glad I already had this card made ready to blog today...it saved me from having to make one last night!
This is another card I've made in an attempt to use up some retiring DSP!

The DSP is from the Regals stack and is Night Of Navy. The Washi Tape is some of the BRAND NEW Gingham Garden tape...isn't it gorgeous! I love how it works so well on such a dark background too! :) The fab 'distressed' yellow background to the butterflies was created by colouring an acrylic block with a Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write marker, then stamped it onto the card....didn't know how it would turn out but I rather like it!

I distressed edge of the panel with my distressing tool. The butterflies are the ever popular Papillon Potpourri and I stamped the big one in Melon Mambo onto card, then the Night Of Navy and Daffodil Yellow ones onto vellum...I'm really loving stamping on vellum lately! I finished by paper piercing using the Paper Piercing Essentials Pack for some added interest.

Supplies
Cardstock - Whisper White
Designer Paper - Regals
Stamp - Papillon Potpourri
Ink - Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Night Of Navy
Punch - Elegant Butterfly, Bitty Butterfly
Other - Paper Piercing Essentials Pack, Gingham Garden Washi Tape

Hexagons for Less Is More!

Good morning LIMettes!
Well, I couldn't believe it when I saw the theme over at Less Is More this morning...

Why the surprise you ask? Well, over at Sketch Saturday, we also have a hexagon theme, and here is the card that I made for that, which I shall be entering into LIM!

I have used a lovely Daffodil Delight card blank and matted it with some of the lovely Natural Composition Speciality card, which has a lovely shiny embossed look to it. The hexagons are cut from the Hexagon Embossing Folder and then each piece is rubbed with Island Indigo ink and a Sponge Dauber. The butterflies were cut from International Bazaar DSP and the antennae were made using Baker's Twine.

Supplies
Cardstock - Daffodil Delight, Natural Composition Speciality card
Designer Series Paper - International Bazaar
Embossing - Hexagon EF
Punches - Elegant Butterfly, Bitty Butterfly
Other - Baker's Twine

Right, I'm off to take our holiday dog, Archie, for a walk and then we have to get ready for a colleague's wedding....busy weekend as usual!
Hope you have a good one! :)
