Happy Birthday Dad!

Hi and Happy Valentine's Day!
It's also my Dad's birthday today so I'm going to share the card I made for him...

I have used the Wetlands stamp set again, while I still have it on loan from Jen! I sponged the background using Soft Sky and Wild Wasabi, then stamped the birds. The goose was stamped in Early Espresso and I sponged Chocolate Chip ink over it to make it look 'real'. I then cut it out to give some dimension and interest.

I used my new Hardwood stamp for the background, stamping it with Sahara Sand onto Sahara Sand cardstock. I added some Crumb Cake Seam Binding across the middle and finished with my sentiment and a wooden button from the Designer Naturals buttons.

I used the sketch at Mojo Monday as my inspiration...

I do have a Valentine card to show you at some point this weekend, but it was a commission so I have to be sure it was given to the recipient before I can blog it!

Have a wonderful day today, whatever you're up to!

Woodgrain and Flowers

Good morning everyone!
How are you this Monday? I have had fun crafting and designing wedding invitations this weekend for a friend's wedding. I would love to share, but until she has sent them I think that would be unfair, don't you?

So instead, I have this to show you...

My inspiration for this card came from the photo at Fusion this week.

I used the Woodgrain stamp for the background, stamped in Early Espresso and I inked the edges with Chocolate Chip. The flowers are die cut from the Blossom Party Originals Bigz Die and the leaves are from the Bird Builder Punch.

The centres are created using a whole load of black gems from my stash. Having a root around my craft room has made me more willing to use up the things I have in my stash! In fact, I think I could make a card a day for the next 10 years, and never have to buy anything lol!

a Vintage Freestyle Collage kind of card!

Hello!!
How are you? Are you having a good week? I've had a busy one, emptying my craftroom ready to add some new staorage and a new desk! I can't wait to see how it will look! Of course, more storage means more room for stamps lol!

Anyway, here is a card I am particularly pleased with! I tried to make it 2 nights ago, but came to a standstill with it. You see, I wanted to make a card to enter the challenge at the brand new challenge blog, The Card Concept, using this picture for inspiration...

...but every time I tried, it seemed to go wrong! I wanted soft flowers and girliness, but it didn't go that way. Anyway, enough waffle...here is my card...

I used various stamps sets here...Simply Sketched for the sentiment, Happy Day for the medallion and Elements of Style for the bird. I fussy cut them both using my super sharp paper snips...I love them so much I have 2 pairs...a ribbon pair and paper pair!

I embossed the banner and the corner of the sentiment panel with Lacy Brocade EF, and the background is using Crumb Cake DSP (ret). I finished with Linen Thread, and some Liquid Pearls (not SU)

I said before that I'm entering at Card Concept. Well I also have to state what style of card I have gone with, and for this one I'm going with Freestyle Collage. The colours inspired me to go with a kind of vintage look too. I also used the sketch at Sweet Sunday too...

I'm off to Ikea tonight to buy some Expedits and Linmon (or something like that!) to transform my craftroom into an organised workspace! I shall post the pics when I've done! :)

Have a fab day...it's Friday!

A late Less Is More card!

Good morning LIMettes!
It's good to be back with the early morning crafting after missing last week's challenge at Less Is More! I didn't enter the One Layer, Witches, Wizards and Monsters challenge because I couldn't think of anything to make! Yup...you got me Chrissie and Jen! I did keep popping over for a peek though and there were some really fun creations!

I am pleased to be back this week, even if I am a little late...I had a much deserved lie in!
The challenge this week is...

So here is something I have made...I've been playing a little actually.

I first of all sponged inside one of the Labels Collection Framelits with Soft Sky for my background. I then stamped the tree and birds from the Serene Silhouettes set in Early Espresso.

The sentiment is stamped in Pool Party and is from the Hostess set Morning Meadow. I finished by inking the edges of the sentiment and the main image panel before attaching to the card. The layout is from the challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch...

Don't forget that there are only 2 more days to get signed up to Stampin' Up! for £25! It's a fantastic deal and perfect whatever level of Demonstrator you'd like to be! And there is no penalty if you decide not to be a demo after all, so there really is nothing to lose! £26.95 worth of products for only £25, plus a business starter kit...BARAGIN! You can join up or contact me for more information!

Thanks for coming today and I shall see you tomorrow! :)

CAS - Colours and Sketches challenge DT card

Good morning!
It's Thursday which means it is time for a new challenge at CAS - Colours and Sketches, and this week we have a really yummy colour combo, courtesy of Patricia.

I really love this colour combo and decided to go for a coloured card blank...seems to be something I'm doing a lot recently!

So I used the Rose Red for the card base, and some of the old Pink Pirouette Two Tone ribbon from last year's Spring/Summer catalogue. I have a fair bit left and thought it would be perfect here!

I stamped the frame and sentiment from the Hostess set Morning Meadow in the three colours, lining it all up perfectly using my Stamp-a-Majig. I finished with bling!

If you like this exclusive hostess set and would like to get your hands on it, there are several ways, and it's easier than you think!

1. Purchase your Stampin' Up! items from my online shop, then enter this month's hostess code and if my monthly sales reach more than £150, you could have the chance to win the hostess credits for the month!

2. Join my Stampers 6 club, starting in December, and you are guaranteed to have the hostess benefits once in the 6 month term!

3. Spend at least £150 with me and all the hostess credits are yours!

4. Book a party with me and if the party sales reach at least £150, you earn all the hostess credits!

If you would like any more information, please don't hesitate to contact me!
