Pinkies Spring/Summer bloghop

Thank you for joining us on another Pinkies Blog Hop! We're showcasing lots of gorgeous projects
using products from the new Stampin' Up!® Spring/Summer Catalogue. Simply use the buttons at the
end of each post to keep hopping!

Here is my project for this blog hop, and I have chosen to use the fabulous Peachy Keen stamp set and On Film framelit bundle and one of the stamps from Happy Watercolor.

I stamped the various elements in Bermuda Bay, Basic Black, Soft Sky and Baked Brown Sugar.

The filmstrip, both arrows and the cute little camera are all from the On Film Framelits. I also cut out an extra 'lens' for the camera, popped it up on dimensionals and then covered with Crystal Effects to give a 3D glassy effect.

I made this as a 'thank you' card as I plan to give it to a work colleague who has been giving me lessons on how to use the digital SLR he sold me and passing on his knowledge from his photography course!

Now, if you have this bundle, you will know that the camera stamp and the camera framelit don't line up as they are both the same way round, meaning you need to cut the camera from the back of the stamped image, rather than the front, which as you can imagine is somewhat tricky! Well, not anymore!

I have made a little video I made on how to cut it out, the easy way! And for those of you that haven't yet bought the bundle and may have been put off by this little quirk, now there's no excuse! I will be posting the video on Monday morning, so don't forget to come back and take a look!

EDIT: You can now view the video tutorial HERE!

Happy Watercolour on Film

Good morning!
Have you been having fun looking through the new catalogues via the links in my sidebar? Aren't there some stunning things and fabulous project ideas?

I have another card today, made using some of the new products, here it is...

I have used Happy Watercolour for the poppy and I stamped it in Versamark, then heat embossed in White Stampin' Emboss, before rubbing Real Red on with a Sponge. I wiped the image once the ink had dried to remove the excess from the outlines. I then masked the poppy and washed soft sky ink over it using my Aqua Painters.

I then cut out the panel with the poppy on and popped it into the die cut film strip from The On Film Framelits. Before adding these to the card blank, I stamped a background with the 'blotchy' stamp from Watercolour wonder and Soft Sky ink. I finished with the sentiment stamped in Real Red, after once stamping off to soften the effect.

A sketchy kind of a day!

Hey!
It's time for our new challenge at CAS - Colours and Sketches and this week it's a sketch challenge, so here is Karen's sketch...

Now I will be honest...it is a little bit of a different sketch for me to use...I found it slightly difficult to rise to this challenge, but I did and I am not totally unhappy with the result!

I have used some of the brand new products that will be available in the new Spring/Summer catalogue from 28th January....the ribbon and the DSP.

The stamp is from the Hello, Lovely stamp set, stamped in Pacific Point and Summer Starfruit to match the paper.

We'd love to see your creations and don't forget to check out the rest of the DT cards!

Pewter embossed Thank You

Good morning!
I had a bit of a crafting session with Jen yesterday, though I didn't get that much done...my mojo was a little missing due to tiredness I think. But I did make a card for the sketch challenge at CAS(E) This Sketch.

My card...

This was a very simple card...I stamped the flower stem in Pear Pizzazz and Wisteria Wonder and I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed with Pewter Stampin' Emboss. I also distressed the edges of the image panel.

I have to say that the pictures do not give any idea of how perfectly shiny silver the embossing powder is...it is stunning! I finished my card with a few dots of Crystal Effects for a little shine and dimension.

I'm taking Keiran to see a panto today...Robin Hood. We went to see Peter Pan last year, and he's really looking forward to seeing this one. It's our last Christmas treat before school starts again on Tuesday. Then it's back to reality for me too, and hopefully my ankle will be strong enough to get myself back to the gym! Trust me, I need to after all the cheese I have eaten this week!

Have a lovely Monday!

A Grungy Thank You

Hello!
I realise my posts are a little thin on the ground these last few days, but I have been very busy with card commissions. I am getting there and I will soon be done (I hope!)

Anyway, it's time for a new challenge at CAS - Colours and Sketches, and this week it is this very bright and cheerful colour combo...

So here is my card using Gorgeous Grunge and some scraps of DSP lying on my desk...

The papers are Eastern Elegance and Polka Dot Parade and the sentiment is from

Secret Garden Thank You

Hello all!
It's Thursday and that means time for a new challenge at CAS - Colours and Sketches, and this week I have chosen a colour theme that reminds me of Christmas. Though I have not made a Christmas card!

I have used Secret Garden for my flowers and leaves...it's a while since I used this set so it was nice to get it out again!

The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners. The inks I've used are Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive and the paper is from Season of Style.

I have used this sketch from Techno Stamper for my card.

Oooh and you know what?? I'm going to slip it in at Less Is More for their CAS Designer Paper challenge...3 entries in one week!!
