Grungy, elegant butterfly

Hello! I had a bit of a clear out of Keiran's toys yesterday...it was very cleansing, and we got rid of lots! Unfortunately I managed to sprain my ankle whilst dumping some of the rubbish! Oh well...gets me out of the gym today! ;)

So after Keiran went to bed I had a little play in my craftroom (another upcoming clear out and re-organise project!) and here is what I came up with...

Now, I had some sort of idea what I wanted to make when I started, but it didn't actually come out that way! I used the Dictionary stamp and rather than ink the whole stamp, I rubbed the inkpad over the stamp, then I wiped off parts of it with a dry baby wipe to give a faded, bitty look. I then added some ink splodges using Gorgeous Grunge, a leaf stem from Summer Silhouettes, and a sentiment from Simply Sketched.

I added a four layered butterfly from Papillon Potpourri in Tempting Turquoise for some femininity.

I'm not 100% sure how I feel about this one, but it's growing on me!

I am entering this into the challenge at Colour Throwdown this week...

Transformed notebooks

Hello!
I have a few school fairs coming up in the next couple of months so I have decided to branch out a little in items for my stall. Not everyone wants/needs cards, so I feel it's time I offered something else...see what you think of these...

I found these lovely little pads in Wilkinsons and just knew they were ripe for transformation! And the best thing? They only took about half an hour for all 3! So I am now experimenting with bigger ones, which I will show when they are done :)

Supplies
Cardstock - Naturals White, Whisper White
Stamps - Motorcycle (from MDS), Simply Stars, Express Yourself, Summer Silhouettes, Morning Post
Ink - Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Old Olive, Raspberry Ripple, Island Indigo
Other - Season of Style Washi, This 'n That Washi

If you would like to purchase any of these products, or anything else for that matter, you can do so using the link in my sidebar.

I hope the storm didn't cause too much damage where you are yesterday. We were lucky to have the winds bypass us in Bolton...just a lot of rain.

Have a lovely Tuesday...see you tomorrow!

Overlaid Summer Silhouettes

Hello!
I had a fairly productive evening last night and managed to make 2 cards! Here is one of them...

I decided to use my Summer Silhouettes Stamp set as I haven't used it for a while. I stamped the leaves twice each inking to give some a faded effext and the same with the fussy cut flowers.

The button is made with Simply Pressed Clay (I always have some white ones made ready to colour with a marker or rub with inked tissue). I embossed and tore a panel of Core'dinations Basic Gray card for texture and a slightly 'shabby' look.

Supplies
Stamps - Summer Silhouettes, Pretty Petites (ret)
Ink - Old Olive, Melon Mambo, Basic Gray
Cardstock - Whisper White, Basic Gray, Basic Gray Core'dinations
Embossing - Woodgrain EF
Punch - Petite Curly Label
Other - Simply Pressed Clay, Baker's Twine

Neutral Birthday

Hello!
So did you have a lovely Monday then? I did! It was lovely to see Mum and Dad. We had fun getting ourselves organised for our upcoming visit to Edinburgh!

Anyway, here is the card I promised...

This lovely stamp is from The Summer Silhouettes set and I stamped it in Chocolate Chip and Whisper White.

I trimmed the stem and added it over my DSP to extend the flower. The butterfly is also stamped in Whisper White. The sentiment is from Jen's Fabulous Phrases, which she forgot to take home Friday night!

Supplies
Cardstock - Crumb Cake
Stamps - Fabulous Phrases, Summer Silhouettes, Papillon Potpourri
Ink - Chocolate Chip, Whisper White

Plaited Organza Ribbon (not easy!)

Hellloo!
How was your Monday? No Monday blues I hope!

I have just spent about half an hour trying to plait 3 pieces of organza ribbon for a card! Now you would think it would be easy right? Well I guess it would be if I had any bulldog clips to hold it to something so it doesn't keep coming undone! Ah well, I got there in the the end!

So here is the card I made using it...

I also used Pink Pirouette DSP, Secret Garden Bundle, Summer Silhouettes and Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

I tore and distressed the edges for a bit of definition.

Supplies
Cardstock - Sahara Sand, Whisper White
Stamps - Secret Garden, Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Summer Silhouettes
Framelits - Secret Garden
Paper - Pink Pirouette Designer Paper (Subtles)
Ribbon - Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral Organza

Fluttering By

Good evening!
I know I'm a wee bit late, but I'm enjoying the crafting in the newly organised room, so much so I'm forgetting to blog lol!

I have a card here which I the last of a large Mother's Day order. The customer received them on Tuesday and she was thrilled with  all 6 of them !

I used Summer Silhouettes and Papillon Pot Pourri for this card, and my new best friend, my Stamp-a-majig! I used really soft colours...for this one. There is only one photo of it, and I only have that because I took a pic on my phone to send to my customer, then forgot to take 'proper' photos of it!

Supplies
Cardstock - Whisper White
Stamps - Summer Silhouettes, Papillon Pot Pourri
Ink (markers) - Pool Party, Island Indigo, Old Olive
Edgelits - Adorning Accents
Ribbon - Pool Party Ruffled Edge Ribbon

Challenges
Flutterby Wednesday - Open (though this was supposed to be entered into last week's sketch but I forgot to enter it!)

Right...gotta go finish a card!
Goodnight!

Get Well Soon

Good afternoon!
I have a little get well card here that I made a couple of days ago...

I have used Summer Silhouettes stamp set and stamped it using my markers. I stamped the lattice stamp off onto some scrap paper before stamping onto my card as the colour was very dark.

I then triple stamped the little flowers to give a graduating effect. The main flower was coloured on the stamp using Blushing Bride and I then drew in the lines in Chocolate chip before stamping. The border was made using the Needlepoint embossing folder and I cute round the scallops. I finished with baker's twine and a pearl.

Products used
Cardstock - Whisper White
Ink (markers) - Chocolate Chip, Blushing Bride, Old Olive
Stamps - Summer Silhouettes, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ebossing Folders - Honeycomb, Needlepoint
Punch - Word Window
Other - Whisper White Baker's Twine, Pearl

Less Is More - Black, White and a teeny bit of colour!

Good Morning!
Happy new year to you all, especially Chrissie, Mandi, Jen and all you fabby LIMettes!

So this week, the challenge at Less Is More is Black, White and a hint of colour. This is what I came up with...

I wanted something simple and wanted to use a stamp set I haven't used yet. I stamped the quatrefoil onto paper first to soften the ink before staming onto my card. I used Cajun Craze. I usually use red or pink with B&W but I felt like a change!

I had originally made this as a one layer card but it just didn't look quite right so I cut the panel out and mounted onto a new card blank...I think it's much more effective.

Supplies used:
Stamps - Summer Silhouettes, Petite Pairs
Ink - Basic Black, Cajun Craze
Pearls from stash
