Perfect Swallowtail

Good morning!
I have another card made using up something I found whilst re-organising my craft room...

This gorgeous white and Iridescent Ice embossed butterfly has been sat on my desk for probably 6 months, poor thing! I decided it was time to use it, and I wanted colour, so I used a piece of sponge to gently sweep Perfect Plum over the butterfly. I then gently wiped the excess colour off the embossing to reveal the white. Isn't it pretty?

I stamped the background in Island Indigo using Gorgeous Grunge, but as I needed a softer look I stamped off the ink first. I finished with a sentiment from Express Yourself, stamped in Smoky Slate.

I am entering my card into a couple of challenges...

Do you remember that I got stuck in a lift at Ikea on Friday? Well, I had a phone call yesterday from the manager and he apologised most profusely, then by way of compensation, he is sending me and Jen a £100 gift card each! Now I still won't be getting in their lift any time soon, but I will be spending their money! That's my craft room paid for, thank you very much!

See you soon!

CASEd notebooks

Good morning all!
It's a frosty one here again! I think winter is well and truly upon us now!

When I went on the brilliant Pinkies craft reward day a few weeks ago, we had a swapping session, and this is the swap I got from the wonderful Michelle Last...

I loved this so much that when I was looking for some inspiration earlier this week for my notebooks, I decided to CASE it. So here are my takes on Michelle's stunning card...

I used Modern Medley DSP, Best of Butterflies, Swallowtail, Chalk Talk Bundle, and Labels Framelits to create my little collection of notebooks. What do you think?

It's a quick one from me today as I am working, and I have lots of Christmas orders to finish!

Enjoy your Friday!

Birthday Butterfly

Good morning! Yay it's Friday!
I have the pleasure of my little man's company this weekend, and I can't wait! :)

I have a card for you today, using an stamp I haven't used for a while...

Here is the beautiful Swallowtail stamp and I have coloured it with Island Indigo ink; pen and inkpad with blender pen.

I used the fab new Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder to give the illusion of flight and movement, enhanced by the butterfly not being flush on the card.

I will be honest, I'm not overly thrilled with this card...I think the butterfly could have done with more colour...what do you think?

Supplies
Stamps - Swallowtail, Simply Sketched
Ink - Basic Black, Island Indigo
Designer Series Paper - In Colour 2012/14 (ret)
Ribbon - Smoky Slate Chevron
Embossing - Stylish Stripes

Have you visited my new shop yet for all your Stampin' Up! goodies? What do you think? If you haven't, please do pop on over and give me your opinion...I'd love to know what you think!

A different Swallowtail

Hello again!
Well, as promised, here is the card using the Swallowtail stamp in a slightly different way...

I have used shrink plastic on this one and I love it! It really makes the butterfly look so realistic!

The smaller butterfly is from the Papillon Potpourri set. I coloured both using my Stampin' Write Markers and Blender Pens to drag the colour out. Isn't it beautiful? In real life this looks so very real!

Supplies
Cardstock - Basic Gray, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper - Brights
Embossing Folder - Elegant Lines
Stamps - Swallowtail, Papillon Potpourri, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink - Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Basic Gray

Another Swallowtail

Hello!
We have had such a brilliant time in Edinburgh, but, alas, it is time to head home now. I will share some pictures with you soon :)

For now, here is a card I made for my lovely Stampers 6 ladies this month using my gorgeous new Swallowtail stamp and some Pool Party embossing folder.

I stamped the background with the Woodgrain background stamp in Crumb Cake.

The butterflies were first heat embossed with Pool Party Stampin' Emboss, then with Iridescent Ice for a bit of sparkle.

Supplies
Cardstock - Whisper White
Stamp - Swallowtail, Woodgrain
Ink - Crumb Cake, Versamark
Embossing - Pool Party, Iridescent Ice

Stunning Swallowtail!

Hello!
Here is a card using the gorgeous Swallowtail stamp and Pool Party Stampin' Emboss powder.

I actually went a bit wrong when I embossed this one...I mis-stamped it so it had a big gap which is why I have used it like this! I do really love it though!

You can see the shimmer of the embossing better here.

Supplies
Cardstock - Whisper White
Stamp - Swallowtail
Ink - Versamark
Embossing - Pool Party Stampin' Emboss
Ribbon - Basic Black Two Tone
Punch - Scallop Trim Border
Other - Bitty Buttons
