A little home decor

Hey everyone!
I have seen lots of pretty handmade home decor items around the net lately, so I decided to make something myself. I recently got the Spiral Flower Die so I thought I would make some rolled roses and see what happened....here is the result...

I must admit, I have used non SU! card for the roses as I was 'playing', but after this first attempt I think I will have a go with some of the gorgeous card we have!

I made a heart frame by die cutting the two largest dies from the Hearts Collection Framelits, then I glued the flowers onto it along with some leaves which I punched from Core'dinations cardstock using the Bird Punch. I then attached a loop of Crochet Trim to hang it with.

I really enjoyed making this...it was something different and I think I mat make some for my stall for later this year! One brilliant thing with the Spiral Flower die is that you can cut lots of flowers at once, cutting down the time to make this...I managed to cut 8 at once!

My Diary

Hello!
I spent most of yesterday and last night designing and making a card for a commission order. I will blog it later this week, hopefully, but unfortunately I didn't get time to do anything else!

So today, I'm going to show you the diary that I made for myself. I don't know about you but I can't keep track of my life without one and as I made them for my friends I thought I deserved one too!

I used a sentiment from Express Yourself and yes, it is for me! I sometimes need reminding that I am actually amazing, even if only in my own little world! The frame of the sentiment is from Hello Lovely and I punched the panel out with the Decorative Label punch.

The butterflies are from Papillon Potpourri and are punched using the matching Bitty Butterfly punch. I added little bits of ribbon, lace and twine for interest, and part of a die cut from the Lattice Bigz Die.

A quick update on my foot...it was still a bit swollen this morning, and quite bruised, so I decided the gym would not be a good place to go, so I went swimming instead. It made quite a change! I may have to swim more often!

Have a good Wednesday!

Altered Diaries

Hello!
Today I'm going to show you some little gifts I made for some friends instead of Christmas cards this year. I was running out of time to get cards off to them, so I decided to make these and send them instead...

These are diaries that I have taken the cover off and re-covered with DSP from the colour collections that are available as downloads for MDS.

The stamp is from Hello Lovely stamp set, punched out with the Decorative Label punch, and I layered them all up with bits of ribbon, Crochet Trim Victoria and Linen Thread.

Here they are in different colours...

I really enjoyed making these and I hope my friends enjoyed receiving them! :)

Beyond the comfort zone!

Good morning!
As I promised yesterday, here is the card that pushed me so far out of my comfort zone that I actually enjoyed it!

I was asked to make a card with 'sewing' things on it, so here it is...

Most of you who know me know that I am very much a CAS gal these days, so this card kind of came as a shock to me when I'd finished it! I just kept adding all sorts of things to it, but the more I added, the more it came together!

I used the Dress Up Framelits for the mannequin and partially embossed it using a retired EF. The papers are Sweater Weather from the Seasonal Catalogue which I chose for their fabricky (it is a word, honest!) look. The tape measure is the Measuring Stick Wheel Builder wheel.

I distressed all the edges with the Distressing Tool and Baked Brown Sugar ink, applied with the Foam Sponges. I also distressed the Pool Party Seam Binding by dabbing with BBS ink, spraying with water and scrunching up then allowing to dry before opening out. I finished with a Crochet Trim, Naturals Designer Button, pearlised pins and Pool Party Baker's Twine bundle, and some scattered pearls.

Like I said, there's a lot on this card, but I think I like it! I just hope my customer does!

Supplies
Designer Series Paper - Sweater Weather
Framelits - Dress Up
Ink - Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana
Stampin' Around Wheel - Measuring Stick
Ribbon, etc - Pool Party Seam Binding, Crochet Trim, Baker's Twine, Naturals Designer Buttons

A Little Love & Laughter

Woohoo! It's Friday!
Well that was a short week wasn't it?! Unfortunately I don't get a day off now until Tuesday but I guess that's the price to pay for a Bank Holiday off!

So here is a card that really should not have taken that long to make last night, but somehow it took almost 3 hours! And I'm not entirely happy with it after all that either!

I have used the Love & Laughter set, along with the Elegant Lines embossing folder and the sadly retired I{heart}Hearts stamps and punch.

I used some shimmery card from my stash for this one and made an A5 tent fold card. I also used Pink Pirouette Two Tone Ribbon and Crochet Trim.

Can you see the sparkle on the cake? Wonder how I did it? Well, I dabbed Versamark onto the stamp, then stamped onto Regal Rose, then Pink Pirouette inks before stamping onto my card. I then sprinkled with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder before heat setting. I think it looks lovely and really does sparkle in real life!

Current Supplies
Stamps - Love & Laughter
Ink - Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Versamark
Embossing - Elegant Lines EF, Iridescent Ice EP
Ribbon - Pink Pirouette Two Tone, Crochet Trim
